Many moons ago, I toured and recorded and had really gnarly callouses on my fingers. That season of my life lasted 12 years, and then everything changed and I set down my guitar for 7 years. I just picked it back up this month. I’ve been trying to write without putting any thought into whether or not I’m writing something catchy, something 3 minutes long, something smart, or heck…even good. My voice muscles aren’t in shape, and my fingers are clumsy, and I don’t care. I’m just writing quickly and for joy. Here’s what came out today.
